Cozy up with ‘Simple Little Things’ this holiday season

While a family of five searched for a permanent residence in Nashville, they stayed in a cabin built in 1825, on a farm an hour north of town.  The 230-acre backdrop was a canvas of towering pine trees and old dirt roads, making it easy to appreciate the simplicity that is easily forgotten in today’s world. ‘Simple Little Things’ came together out of pure chance.  Deidre met the amazing mother of this family at a local Nashville diner.  They swapped stories, exchanged numbers and within a week they were writing together.

“I laid it all out there.  At that time, the world was full of hurt and confusion.  It was enlightening to be around someone who shifted my perspective.  I hadn’t written much music during the ‘shut down,’ but when my eyes read her heart on paper, my soul ignited, and my spirit was on fire.”

‘Simple Little Things’ has been recorded for over a year, but is the last song being released by Deidre in 2023.

“It feels good sticking to plans and accomplishing goals.  With that said, a lot of life is out of our control, and that’s okay too.  I didn’t plan on meeting Liz, the mastermind behind the song, who’s been such a light in my life.  This song wouldn’t have been possible without her, Tim Pasley (sponsored guitarist/Thompson Square) and Sal Oliveri (Grammy-Nominated Producer/Chris Stapleton, Carrie Underwood, P!NK, Brett Eldridge).  I’m beyond grateful.”

The visualizer for the song was produced by Steve Kinney.  Steve also produced Deidre’s other official videos.

“Filming on that majestic 230-acre farm, inside the almost 200-year-old cabin was incredibly special, but what made it more special was knowing that it’s the location where ‘Simple Little Things’ originated.  I’m looking forward to meeting my 2024 goals, but also looking forward to the unexpected.”
