Nashville Night: A Smash Hit for Fans and the Babcock Ranch Foundation

The inaugural Nashville Night concert brought some of Music City’s brightest stars to Southwest Florida on Nov. 18 to perform under the Founder’s Square bandstand at Babcock Ranch. The concert was a successful fundraiser for Babcock Ranch Foundation which supports programs for local at-risk youth. One hundred percent of the ticket sales went to the foundation, while sponsors defrayed the costs of the event.

The bandstand is home to regular Friday and Saturday evening concerts with local and regional bands, but this was the first time it hosted a large-scale music event with nationally recognized singer, songwriters and musicians. Included in the show was headliner Deidre Thornell, along with Dave Isaacs and the duo of Meg Williams and Travis Bowlin.

Except for more than a 20-degree temperature difference, a tropical backdrop with swaying palm trees and about 828 miles of freeway driving in between the locations, concertgoers might have sworn they were in Nashville, Tennessee. The concert included professional lighting, staging and sound along with a large screen projecting the show and giving everyone an intimate front-row-seat view, regardless of where they sat.
